Blog

Hi everyone, here below are some of my favourite drills for warm ups or training independentl. Each one targets different areas of your body and will strengthen your performance on court. Hope you like them!

Defending drill

Form two lines with a minimum of two people in each.

Start with another person about 3m in front of either line, they will be the β€œdefender” with the ball being held by the first person in the line they’re stood in front off.

Now, someone from the opposite line drives out in a straight line with the ball passed ahead of them.

The β€œdefender” will drive diagonally and intercept the pass and pass it to the line they are now in front off. Then join the back of the line.

Now repeat for as long as you like!

Four corners

Form four lines, with a minimum of two in each line, each at a different corner in a square facing inward. Start with two balls at opposite corners.

Now the people at the front of the lines without a ball drive out in a straight line and receive a ball from their left and pass in front. They then join the back of the line they just through the ball too.

Repeat this as long as you like. Have fun!

Twisties

This is one of my favourite drills to do independently as it’s brilliant at improving your netball performance!

First find a wall or rebounder to use to train against. Stand about a foot in front of it.

Then throw the ball about a meter to your left. Drive after it.As the ball rebounds jump up and turn in the air as you catch it. Land facing the way you began.

Now throw the ball to your right and repeat the previous steps.

Enjoy!
